Watch the sun expel some gasses. Dial up warning!
http://sohodata.nascom.nasa.gov/cgi-bin/soho_movie_theater

Under "image type", select LASCO C3.

Under "Resolution" select 1024

Start date: 2009-07-05
End date: 2009-0707

Click "Search"

It takes a bit to load but you will see the sun expel a cloud of gasses.

Note: the blue disc blots out the sun. The white ring denotes the actual size of the sun.

On a rare occasion you can see a comet dive into the sun.

5. That was a great comet. What it lacked in naked eye viewing was made
up when it grazed the sun.
