Sorry for the delay. We had an employees meeting this morning and then I had to work in between and order some books.

I took a bunch of new pictures yesterday again from my balcony. But I won't bother you with it today. :)

5. Morning! I switch from night shift to day shift today...

8. Good morning

I'm doing better now. I spent 3 hours typing a single post. My first post I put a lot of emotion and detail into it. I explained a situation and put it into great detail and even then that didn't tell the whole story but it was supposed to be a post and not a book so I tried to keep it as short as possible. So when I hit 'post message' my PC froze and didn't go through. :argh: That took 2 hours.

I contemplated writing another one and since it was something I really wanted to share I used my e-mail and saved to draft just in case! :D

This time it was shorter and very basic in details but I think it gets the overall point across but definately doesn't tell the whole story as before. Considering it is the longest post in the thread I think my PC did everyone else and those with dial-up a favor. :rofl:

I'm reading Steve Martin's "Born Standing Up". It's okay, a fast read - good thing. I'm not really much of a Steve Martin fan. This is a selection from my book club, otherwise I don't think I'd finish it.

But . . . just finished "Three Cups of Tea" by Greg Mortenson http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Three_Cups_of_Tea

It's very good and very inspiring. I totally agree with Mr. Mortenson, that peace through education is the key. And we can all be part of that movement.

They're everywhere down here and a favorite of the iguanas; they eat the blossoms. Best look out for a green beastie appearing on your balcony.

50. That is fantastic to know. I'll tell you why.

A couple years ago I bought a hibiscus for my mom on her birthday. Her birthday is in June, so that was fine; she put the plant on her balcony, where it flourished.

Winter came however, and while I was visiting she mentioned she was going to put it downstairs in storage. My family calls this area "the bin". I was horrified and said she could not possibly put the hibiscus in the bin and she should keep it inside the condo.

Apparently someone told her you can just shut them away in darkness and they will go dormant. Well, I was having none of this and the upshot of the story is that the hibiscus took an expensive trip through the US mail and is now growing happily in tropical bliss here with me.

She can visit it, of course, but it's not the same.

So I will let her know about you and your hibiscus growing in Germany.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm off to check out Miss September (and her hibiscus);-)
