with "y'all".

I'm not from the South, but I like "y'all", it actually is very useful, and I sometimes use it.

I find it interesting that the form appears in the South, which was settled by French and Spanish speaking Europeans, and both languages have a plural "you." I wonder if there is a connection?

(Yes, I know English experts will tell me that "you" IS the plural "you" in English and "thou" is the singular. Unfortunately "thou" has become archaic, so we need to either revive it or invent a new form).

and it's opposite

ibaru: To go around acting like you think you're really wonderful

oshii: An adjective used to describe "the one that got away," a missed opportunity.

amaeru: To suck up to someone

kanchigai: Misreading someone's intentions

samugariya: A person who always feels cold

gambaru: To give it all you've got, to hang in there, to keep going against all odds

doutei: Male virgin

pinpinkorori: Used to describe old people who are vigorous and alert until they die either suddenly or of a brief illness
