Advice on Vinyl requested.
My dad gave me his vintage record player a few weeks back, and I haven't had much time to get some albums. All I have is "Pet Sounds".

I need some good recommendations for record albums to get. My tastes are as follows: Eagles, Classic Rock, Jazz (Duke, Miles Davis, Louis Armstrong, etc).

1. so, get those
I don't understand your question - get what you like.

if the player is old and belt-driven you may need to find a new belt. cartriges (needles) are available online.

2. If it's really an antique I wouldn't even use it.
Just keep it as a piece of history (and a neat one at that). If you really want to get into vinyl you should grab a USB turntable and run it through your PC. Vinyl has great sound, but an older player really won't get the most out of it, and you run the risk of damaging an antique.

That's $99, and they can run up to around $300, depending on your audio needs. I think the cheap one sounds fine.

3. get a new cartridge before you play anything
and then hit the yard sales and pawn shops. Jazz is harder to find at yard sales so you may want to look up a used record dealer. Get some cleaner like this http://www.amazon.com/Stanton-Magnetics-VC-1-Record-Cleaner/dp/B00006I5UH/ref=pd_sim_e_24 too.

5. If you lived in Iowa, I'd tell ya to c'mon over!
My home IS a record store!! I've got about everything you'd want except for the jazz.
