YOU KNOW YOU'RE FROM THE BAY AREA WHEN:

YOU KNOW YOU'RE FROM THE BAY AREA WHEN:

Your monthly house payments are three times your house's square footage (and you think
it's obscene but still better than living in Phoenix).

You drive next to a Prius and don't notice it.

You don't know anyone's phone number because you just look for their picture on your iPhone.

That BART is full of weirdos on the weekends and that MUNI is full of weirdos all the time.

You rate your friendships based on whether they live on your side of the bay/tunnel so that you don't have to cross a bridge or go through a tunnel to see them.

Getting anywhere from point A to point B across a bridge takes about 45 minutes or possibly an hour more than that.

You don't consider weddings a happy occasion if they require you to cross a bridge to get to one.

When it rains for three weeks in a row during the winter that "we need the rain" :eyes:

You eat the ethnic/ethnic fusion food currently in vogue when going out with friends.

Calling your neighbors requires knowing who your neighbors actually are. :wtf:

You see commercials for fast food chains that are not found in the Bay Area, but are plentiful in Southern California (like Del Taco, Sonic, etc.)

You loathe going to the mall.

You go to the beach twice a year at most. You go in the water only one of those times. :scared:

You think that Venice is in Italy.

You are a Democrat, unless you live in San Francisco or the Oakland-Berkeley corridor, in which case you are too liberal to be a Democrat.

You think you are better than people who live outside San Francisco or alternately, you know that people in San Francisco think they are better than you.

When the traffic slows down, you hope there is an accident ahead so that it will speed up again soon.

You say that San Jose reminds you of LA.

San Francisco is pronounced SnFrncisco and San Jose is pronounced Sanozay and Oakland is pronounced Oaklund and Concord is pronounced Conquered.

You go to the gym more than you go to the mall, and enjoy it more too.

You know which lanes at the Bay Bridge Toll Plaza move faster than others and you know that the right lanes on most freeways move faster than the left.

You have theories regarding finding parking spaces in SF and Berkeley which you live by.

You know what "Spare the air" means.

You know someone is from Southern California if they refer to a freeway as "The" 101 or "The" 880, knowing that locals call them simply: 101, 880, 80, etc.

You get lots of visitors who expect you to spend hours at Fisherman's Wharf with them. :eyes:

You are not surprised when it does not rain from April to October and are not surprised when it rains almost continously during the winter.

1. ...what the Bay Area has to offer far oughtweighs the ridiculous shit you endure while enjoying it,
The biggest one being overcrowding. I remember when there was breathing room here. As one Realtor friend likes to put it, "That was before we invited everybody in the world to come live here with us."
