People with caller ID. Do you do this? |
|
I do not have caller ID on my home or cell phone, but my husband does have it on his. When we miss a call and there is no message and the number is one we do not recognize, we do not call them back to see who is calling. We really couldn't care less who it is.
However, if I ever mis-dial a number, and hang up when I realize it, people I don't even know and have never called before, actually call me back to see who is calling them.

3. If it's a number for someone I know |

I do call back but I don't feel the need to call someone who obviously mis-dialed and can't figure out why people do. :hi:

4. I HATE the act of which you speak. |

The other part of that that I've noticed (and I've watched people do it) is that they sometimes call the number back WITH ATTITUDE.
It drives me NUTS.
From behavior I've seen in the Lounge there are probably a good number of people here that do it though.

5. Some guy just called my cell phone |
|
a little while ago. Didn't know him from Adam and said, "Hey, you called." I told him he had a wrong number and he said, "Well this is what the caller ID said." I have a feeling he just mis-dialed because the only time I used my cell today was to call my bank and I dialed it right.
Good to see you, Madrone. Hope all is well with you these days. :hi:

9. I used to have a teenager living with me.... |

I saw her do the behavior you're describing all the time. And she'd pull out the attitude if they didn't know what she was talking about. It always irritated the crap out of me - and she's not the only one I've seen do it. I don't get it either - with OR without the attitude.
Nice to see YOU. I'm pretty good - got some issues, but who doesn't? Finding a great deal of levity in the lounge instead of working at the moment. ;) How are you doing?

About issues, that is. Glad to hear you are doing "pretty good."
Other than spending the evening chugging copious amounts of polyethylene glycol, I'm doing pretty good, too.

lmao - me too!
Well... MiraLax (an OTC brand of poly-g), and not copious amounts in one evening, but....
Recently determined (FINALLY) to be hypothyroid, on top of the myriad of other, previous diagnosis (wtf is the plural of this?), and lo and behold - one of the many symptoms requires copious amounts of help via MiraLax.
I'm assuming that in your case you get to stop after tonight, and by tomorrow afternoon you'll be thankful it's over and STARVING.

13. Your assumption is correct. |

I have one more glass to go. I haven't eaten all day and because I'm not at work, it's not bothering me. If I had gone to work this morning, I would have wanted to be stress eating as per usual.
Glad to finally got a real diagnosis (pl: diagnoses) and hope you do so much better from here on out.

6. I have special rings for my phones |

Both the cell and the landline. I set them up for my friends and family. I only pick up when the call is coming from friends or family. Otherwise, that's what the answering machine is for. My philosophy on people who don't leave messages is...fuck them.

8. I'm not talking about screening calls. |
|
I'm talking about people who call total strangers back because their number comes up as a missed call on their caller ID with no accompanying message.
