Help Texas pooch found roaming the streets of Brunswick

BRUNSWICK -- It's the kind of story that dog lovers everywhere embrace. A dog missing from Texas for five months is found 1,800 miles from home, wandering the streets in this Northeast Ohio city.

City of Brunswick Animal Warden Mike Kellums got a call for a dog running around a neighborhood. Kellums managed to corral the dog and brought it back to the facility.

He then scanned the dog, looking to see if the dog's owner had a microchip implanted under the dog's skin for identification.

Turns out, there was a microchip and Kellums called the dog's owner in Texas.

She said it was her dog, Flower, and Flower just "came up missing" one day about four or five months ago.

She said she would love to have Flower back but can't afford to fly Flower back home.

If you can help send Flower back home or know someone who can, please contact Kellums at (330) 225-9111.

2. Yeah, it's a little questionable too
Came up missing 4 or 5 months ago? I would think the owners would know the day their dog went missing a little closer than 4 or 5 months.

4. Small world. Mike Kellums lives three doors away from me.
Good guy, I used to work with his wife.

I wonder if an ex taking the dog had anything to do with it.

6. People do it just out of spite.
They could not care less about the pet involved; it's just a game of 'keep-away' for them.

8. Yep. Deep13 is a Brunswickian, along with Dynasaw.
But, don't tell them I know that.
