The Tour...

I had to post this...


This is the first year I have been activity following each stage of the Tour De France. Thanks to a DVR I watch the stage after work. I followed previous years with spotty coverage and maybe saw two or three states on Network TV if broadcast.

This year is so different. The coverage is in HD for a lot of cameras. Some not. What is striking me is the Aerial coverage. Their is a lot of Helicopter shot and those are in HD.

So far...I must say...

The french countryside, towns and villages and cities are so beautiful!! Either the tour purposely picked the most scenic routes or most of rural France looks like a painting.

All I can say is the red roofs, lack of "trashitecture" in the small towns and villages is breathtaking.

For those DUer's who have lived there or vacation...I am so envious.

I would love to take a mini-tour of Southern France on bike.

Also Spain...Barcelona was a strikingly beautiful city. I can tell you it is rare that one can approach any American city and not be greeted with ugly dead industrial tombstones, endless light industrial buildings and strip mall and abandon big box retail.
