How's that for a title?
The subject line might be something like: "How much longer are we going to let our lives depend on insurance companies?"
Or:
"Who do you want when you're sick - a clerk telling you it's not allowed or health insurance that helps you to get better?"
Or:
"It's time for us to all get involved - our lives, our children's lives, depend on it."
As for signs, how about something like "Sick To Death - And That's How Our Government Wants It" or ""Why Can't I Have Health Insurance Like My Senator Has?'
Not much, but maybe a good jumping-off point.
Good luck.....................

That would probably help get some responses.

12. it's not about my position. it is about getting all the facts to the people, and |
|
figuring out where they want to go with it. we start with the folks in our ward, but we do want to get many groups from around the city to join us, and at that point the idea is to make our voices heard. i think that many of the folks will continue to fight for single payer, even though they know they will not get it. without that pressure from the left, what is there to negotiate?
so, first is an informational forum, then a demonstration. we really need some smart writing. i think i will come up with stuff eventually. i am still waiting for the details, anyway.
and i thank all those that have replied, and all those that will. i know very well how hard this type of writing is. i never really imagined before i started making buttons how hard it was to squeeze a big topic into a little button. it's like writing haiku or something. funny haiku at that. hurts my head sometimes just thinking about it.

8. make a sign for each of your senators (if they are against single payer) |
|
"Give us YOUR healthcare, or the $________ that the healthcare industry gave you"
go to opensecrets.org to find out how much the industry bribed, er I mean donated to your congresscritters
Shame them into doing what's right

we might want to do something like that. we will have several versions, as well as blanks. we will collect them and hand deliver them.
