1. We got lucky this week. Today the high was only like 97 ish!
It actually rained here one day, and that day the temp was 90!!! :wow: It almost felt cool!

This summer heat SUCKS!! I am thankful it wasn't this hot last year when I was the size of a whale with the Fred Flintstone swollen feet.

7. I'm a native too
and egads, this is bad. I've been washing my car religiously every week, daring it to rain. We've got a lot of humidity, but no rain, dammit. :grr:

And at least 2 more months of summer to go...... :scared:

20. I was in Sherman-Denison the summer of 1980.
We ran a heat death count on the front page every day, like a traffic death thing. Holy Lord, that was some stretch of 100-plus weather.

16. even the pool water at my apt is luke warm and gross
The last time I went to the water park, I slapped on 30 SPF waterproof sunscreen four times during the 5 hours I was there and STILL got a little burned. I'm going to cry when I see the next electric bill, but my air conditioner is the only thing keeping me from going on a murderous rampage right now. Goddess help me if it breaks down. Then again, I'm pretty sure the jury would understand.

My most hated task these days is getting into the car to go anywhere. It's like sitting on a bed of hot coals in a sauna for the first five minutes. Touching everything hurts, including the stupid radio buttons.

22. It really could be worse.
I am looking at pictures of my Grandparents and various other family members picking cotton.

On the back of two of the pictures it says, today was 103.

They looked had on long pants, long sleeve shirts and big straw hats.

They were tough people.

They had to drag behind them a big cotton picking bag.

Bless their hearts, I couldn't do it.

24. I have worked outside doing hard labor and I had to take the bus
Now that I have a car and work semi indoors I don't complain. 110 is hot it is a different story when you are breaking rock with hand tools and then after 5 you have to wait 30-45 mins to get on a bus that MAY have A/C and then have to wait 30/45 mins waiting for another bus and then walking a little bit to get to your home.
