Well, maybe not in my life, but it is definitely raining harder than it has in the the past couple of weeks or so.

7. I'm trying to smoke a cig by hanging out my window...
and I'm getting soaked and my glasses are all fogged up. My neighbor is looking at me through his kitchen window, shaking his head.

Wonder what his problem is? :D

12. Actually...
They are a young couple...early 30's. REALLY good neighbors...we help each other out, but stay out of each other's way.

I really do smoke out my window so I don't stink up my house.

Their house is only about 15 feet from my window.

They are so used to me, that the woman walks in front of her window at night with her night clothes on, and I get so damn embarrassed! I turn my head, and she starts to laugh because I have spoken to her about this...she knows I get embarrassed.

The husband will sometimes stand there in his underwear, knowing I am there, but not looking up at me, and start picking his nose just to rattle my cage.

And in this case, it goes both ways!:o
Can't imagine you having to tell the young married woman to put some clothes on!
And her picky husband...ewwww!
Too funny!

Stop looking out your window!:spank:

18. One more thing...
Sometimes, he will walk out their side door, which is right under my window.

If he doesn't happen to notice me, and I say good morning, he just about jumps out of his skin because he is startled.

They call me "The voice of God".

6. Potato blight in New England
Wet weather is having consequences...

If you grow tomatoes or potatoes, take heed. This is shaping up to be one of the worst years for Late Blight, the fungal disease made famous as the cause of the Irish potato famine of the mid-1800's. Today, this disease doesn't pose the threat of famine, since we don't depend on one or two local crops for our food, but it could ruin potato and tomato crops for local farmers and gardeners unless they are alert and take appropriate action. Note that this disease poses no threat to people -- except for the loss of these crops.

Late blight is caused by the fungus called Phytophthora infestans, and it's actually not uncommon in the Northeast, since it thrives in cool summer temperatures and frequent rains. But usually its occurrence is limited to later in the growing season and only certain areas of the region, typically in a few farm fields. This year, it has shown up early and is widespread. Worse, it's been identified on tomato plants for sale at a number of home garden centers, suggesting that large numbers of home gardeners have purchased infected plants, which may serve as a source of inoculum (spores) that can spread the disease.

27. I just read that the wet weather
we've been having here in Virginia is going to screw up the tomato harvest. So far, I've not seen any really great tomatoes, so I'm a bit nervous.

And there's rain coming tonight, it is predicted.................

30. We had a wet winter,
and this summer has been very strange so far - some cool periods, unheard of at this time of year - and rain. Rain. And more rain.

Good thing there's no such thing as climate change, eh?
