"Transcendental Blues"- Steve Earle
Easily my favorite orginal song of his (his gritty, beautiful version of Dylan's "My Back Pages" is a classic); That churning, pounding monolith of a riff sends chills down my spine every time I crank it up on the stereo:

6. Great lyrics
I like how he ended looking at it from the other side. Same ol' deal, different location.

7. Me too.
It's not just one side that suffers in a war.

9. Steve Earle is one of my all time favorites. He rules.
Anyone who hasn't ever heard "John Walker's Blues" or anything off the CD "The Revolution Starts Now" really should give him a listen.
