The movie Pineapple Express
it got pretty good reviews. I watched it last night. While I found it mildly entertaining, I really didn't find myself laughing all that much. Was it me, or was the movie not all that funny? Would it have been funnier if I was drunk or high?

1. I watched it on Netflix last night and it was "ok"; maybe a C+?
There were a couple of scenes that got me laughing but overall it was a little disjointed and juvenile.

I did however watch it all way through so I can't complain too much. Oh and I was drinking beer if that helps.

2. thanks, that is sort of how I saw it
but I remember when it came out, it good very good reviews. I thought maybe I was losing my sense of humor

3. I thought it was hilarious
It's probably funnier if you know people who are like some of the characters. I work with a guy who is just like the James Franco character, though he's not a dealer.

4. You're right
I don't smoke weed but know people that do, and they're 100% percent like those guys. I found myself dying laughing when he went to his teenage girlfriend's house and her dad was firing a shotgun at them.

5. It's all about expectations for me.
I saw this movie right when it came out and thought it was pretty funny. I really had no expectation, so I just enjoyed it for what it was.

Then a friend just could not shut up about how fantastic it was. If I had waited until this friend raised the bar for the movie, I would not have enjoyed it very much. Same movie- different expectations.

6. I was sober and I haven't laughed so hard watching a movie in such a long time

It was so funny I added Superbad to my netflix list despite my previous reservations about it.

A++ movie. I guess it is just me but I find most comedies mildly funny but this one, I haven't laughed so hard in awhile.

on edit, the scene where he drives the police car with his foot stuck in the windshield was especially memorable. Given the context of the situation as well.

12. I thought Superbad was much better, actually.
But I liked Superbad because it was cute, not because it was funny.

7. I thought it was very funny, but I also thought
Rosie Perez needed to go to acting school. Or at least comedy acting school.

8. Rosie Perez did a great job in White Men Can't Jump
It was the first movie I seen her in since her bit part in Riding in Cars with Boys. I thought she did ok as far as comedy is concerned. Probably could've done better but she appeared to be very talented at least to me in White Men Can't Jump.

10. I love Seth Rogen, I love comedies, I laugh at almost anything
But Pineapple Express wasn't funny to me at all. Perhaps a few laugh-out-loud scenes, but my perception was the intention of the movie wasn't to elicit laughs.

I enjoyed the movie. But I have a hard time accepting its placement in the Comedy section of Netflix.

11. It's a stupid comedy. Fun, but not exactly an experience for the ages.
Never seen it drunk or high, so wouldn't know about that.

13. I think it depends not on if you were high but the lifestyle you have lived
and the characters you have encountered. I thought back to all of my former homies (lets face it stoned losers ) and the people who provided (who thought they were scarface) and how they would be in that situation. On the bonus features Seth Rogen said that Brad Pit's Character (the pot head just on the couch while all this stuff happens around him) was his inspiration for the film

18. I loved it -
I knew those guys, love those guys, and the characterizations were dead on.

Got a lot of great big laughs out of it, but I'm an old hippie chick, so I'm a bit biased in favor of stoners.......
