1. Don't you suppose almost every OP will have experienced un-rec |

within a week or so? I do. It doesn't bother me at all. I don't expect to be universally loved; in fact, I take some rejections as an endorsement of my character. :hi:

It's not necessarily true, ya know.

6. Well, my threads (since this has started) get unrec before they even get posts |
|
So, why would that change?

7. Why does it concern you, though? |
|
I've got a Nighthawks thread going that seemed to bring a lot of joy to the participants and that was the intent when I started it: sense of community. I really don't give half a crap if it gets -1,000 un-recs from people who weren't even participating.
There's something here I'm not understanding. :(

14. Stop opening yourself up for it. |
|
That doesn't mean shutting down emotionally. You KNOW this. It means empowering YOURSELF to validate YOU.
I can tell you this from personal experience: YOUR honest opinion of yourself is the one that matters MOST. Don't obsess about what others think. Listen quietly, take from others' opinions what might be of value in your growth journey, and move on. Truth is, most people have their own agendas when they accept or reject you, but in the final analysis, YOU get to decide how you react. This is YOURS, and nobody can take it away from you.

17. Yeah, listen to Heidi. |
|
She's got the answer to this.
I used to be the butt of a lot of people's jokes all through jr. and sr. high. Got picked on a lot. In addition, my dad did nothing but tear down my self-esteem, although in his mind doing this was making me stronger. In a way it did because after taking his crap, I don't take none of no one else. LOL
Now I do, say, live and love how I want without the slightest care what anyone else thinks about it because I do what makes me happy, without being inconsiderate of others, of course. If someone doesn't like it, I can't help that.
A lot of coming to terms with feeling that way does come with age. I'm gonna be a kickass old lady. :P

It's the talk of three forums that I know of so far (LBN, GD, and this one).

10. LOL...that's the spirit! |
|
That is the correct approach in my opinion. There's ALWAYS going to be people who don't like us for one reason or another. Worrying about what people online think (or offline for that matter) is almost always a waste of energy. Just be you and to Hell with the people who don't like it.

I wonder about the other people - in the poll I started - who hate the new feature.
I guess when donations begin to drop off the Admins might re-evaluate their newest toy. :hi:
