Good morning Lounge
How are you today? How was your weekend?

Saturday I worked and after I was done at 10.30pm I went to a friend and had a drink with her and a couple of other friends. They were so kind to wait for me :)

Yesterday I .... uh ... slept. Yup, I slept almost the whole day. Guess my body needed the rest. BUT!!! I did finally unload my last box from the move :woohoo: and now my working room is now in order. Don't ask about the drawers though :hide:

I will work this evening again and Thursday evening. I will be off this coming weekend because my mom is coming for a visit. My grandma won't come, the weather is too humid for her.
WARNING: That also means I won't be posting my "Good morning" thread on Friday AND Monday!!!!!!

3. Mornin' Miss H
I had a date on Saturday night. I called her the next day and she still sounds interested so I guess I did alright. It will be the first time I've had 2 dates with the same person since I started this internet dating deal. The problem before now has been a lack of honesty. From the way they look to how old they are to what they are really after to married people to outright prostitution; the problems were endless. This one seems like the real deal.

Glad you had a (at least halfway) restful weekend.

and the 6:35 is doing runups so we are good to go.

The sick employee is hanging in for now.

I expect he will leave early though, because another supervisor is coming to take my place around 11 so I can go to some required training. He doesn't like that supervisor and I suspect this is the cause of his "illness", lol.

I'm sure you are looking forward to your mom's visit. Mine left here on Saturday and is back safely.

usually my mom does not comment - she just waits till I am out of the house and starts her "putting away".

We did talk about a trip in the fall and she is interested in doing that, so I'm hoping that will come to pass.

I was wondering...in the news today here they report that Germany has charged Demjanjuk with over 27,000 counts of accessory to murder. Is that getting converage over there as well? I think they have him in Munich.

I wasn't there at the house when she was getting ready; I had a friend to pick her up since I was at work. If I had been there, I would have made sure she had all her bits and pieces, lol.

She was also commenting on the whole Twitter phenomenon during the recent Iranian unrest.

I have to admit I was surprised she even knew about Twitter. She always surprises me and actually accepted computers before I did.

I didn't sleep all day yesterday, but I tried. One trip to the stores and a walk out on the deck were as far as I got. After last week's fun and games a day going nowhere and doing nothing helped.

Now to get this shoulder settled. I pulled a muscle pushing my work car to the roadside when it broke down Monday. It makes playing just a little less fun.

up north but abandoned the wine tasting idea and decided to visit antique shops instead. I'm glad b/c most of the wineries up north make sweet wine and mostly from cherries which I don't like.

Did buy two really neat flower vases. Will take a pic and post tomorrow.

75. I learned English in school
but was very bad in the class. Barely made it through the finals. Then I became a nanny near Charlotte, NC for about a year. After 3 months I started to be able to talk without using my dictionary for each word. After the year my English was good enough to be able to do internships in Glasgow (Scotland) and in Savannah, GA. Since then I read books in English, watch movies in English and also dated Americans. That all helped to get my English to where it is now.

42. Good morning
I had a pretty good weekend. Me and my mom ended up with 4 netflix movies this weekend when we normally just have 1 or 2. We get 3 out at a time but we got an extra one because One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest was shipped from California for some odd reason that I don't know.

It was all Tom Cruise and Jack Nicholson movies except for the Bonnie and Clyde movie my mom put on the list in which we both ended up not liking except she loved the movie when she was kid.

Let's see there was Cuckoos Nest starring Jack Nicholson. A Few Good Men starring Nicholson and Cruise, and War of the Worlds starring Tom Cruise as well as Dakota Fanning who is a very good child actor of this era.

War of the Worlds is an interesting movie about a giant robot martian invasion based on the HG Wells novel. Even though that movie was based on fiction and Bonnie and Clyde was a nonfiction movie, War of the Worlds seemed a lot more realistic. :silly:

I am not a Tom Cruise fan. Only movie I liked him in was "Collateral" with Jamie Foxx.

Jack Nicholson did quite some good movies. Cuckoos Nest is a very disturbing movie.

55. I did
It really was an accident how we ended up with so many Cruise and Nicholson movies. We have a wide variety of choices on the list from many era though my mom has picked the older ones. I picked The Deer Hunter and that was a bad movie, I picked it solely based on the awards and it had a very good cast.

I picked A Few Good Men because I never seen it before and I wasn't disappointed and my mom picked War of the Worlds because she thought it was about the famous public reaction from the reading of the novel on the radio show but it was just a modernize version of the 1953 novel but nonetheless it was a pretty good flick.

I'm not much of a Tom Cruise fan myself but like just a few of his movies. My favorite has to be Collateral as well.

As far as Jack Nicholson I think he is a great actor. The Pledge has to be the best movie he was in despite it being underrated. That movie does not have a happy ending and it had me wishing it was even after hours watching it.

I hope you can save at least some of the money.

I am looking forward to end of this month too. I get two paychecks from my second job since they didn't pay me last month. Ought to make a good paycheck too :D

80. I think the work is worth it if you get a good paycheck at the end of it.
I really did enjoy working the conference, even if the days were super long.

I can't tell you how tired I am now, though...

82. Oh I can imagine
I know how tired I was Saturday night after 6 days of work.

I bet you can't wait for coming weekend. Maybe you can leave early at least one day this week. You need your rest.

89. I'm only moderately looking forward to the weekend.
my cousin is getting married on Sunday in Georgia, so we are driving down on Saturday, and coming back on Monday. (So I do get Monday off!) I think I'm probably going to take Tuesday off too, but I can't take anymore days off in July, because I have a huge project due at the end of July and every moment is going to be needed to work on that. I have plans every weekend too (don't ask me how that happened, I still have no idea) and I have to work on the calendar too, so I'm booked solid this month. I'm hoping to get some time off next month. Even just a couple of days would be nice. I haven't had a real vacation in at least a year and a half.

I know this wedding is going to be beautiful, but it's a long way to go for a cousin I haven't seen in 2 years...

92. I've looked at a couple of them, but I haven't had the time
to sit down and really look at them. Hopefully next week. :crossfingers:

I feel so bad that I haven't had time to work on it at all - I made the calendar schedule before I knew I was going to be out of town for a week or that July would be so busy. I'm hoping to have the contests in the second half of August, and all the photos sent to Skinner by the beginning of September, if everything goes smoothly.

you are very early. I think it will work out just fine. You did and do a trememdous job with the calendars. Kudos for doing it.

45. G'day, MissH!
:hi:

I know, I had a lazy Sunday, too. :boring: The rains came earlier than the forecast; the rains were supposed to come at night. It rained late afternoon and into the night. The skies are clearing now. Enjoy the weekend off with your mother. :hi:

for you and good for the boss.

I had to switch schedules this week too. Boss at the second job put me in on Saturday even though I told him (and wrote it down) that I need this weekend off. Another cashier was supposed to work Thursday but can't that day. So we switched. Now I work Thursday evening and she works Saturday.

62. Good morning, Miss Honeychurch and the Lounge.
Not much new here... I discovered tomato blight in my garden and am now waging a full frontal attack. :grr:

Aren't "sleepy Sundays" the best? I love to read and lounge around on Sundays. Seems like our bodies need that to recharge.

Thank you for the lovely rose. Unfortunately, I have never been able to grow those! Have a great day!

What is tomato blight?

I can't grow roses either. I mean how am I supposed to do that on a balcony anyway? I took the picture in a rose garden.

72. It is rampant this year. It's related to the Irish potato famine, actually.
The leaves turn yellow, with black spots, and fall off. It's very serious as it could affect the tomatoes and ultimately kill the plants. It might even be too late, but I'm spraying them like crazy.

We put in a huge new garden this year with great expectations, so this is a big setback. :grr: I never had it in the "old" garden!

Thanks for asking. I've posted in the Gardening forum too.

76. Ugh ...
I hope you can save the plant and the tomatoes. Home grown tomatoes are so much more yummy than the water thingies you can buy at the store. This year I have cherry tomatoes but I think next year I will grow me some "normal" tomatoes.

There is nothing like a tomato right from the garden.

Thank you and good luck with yours, too! :hi:
