1. Not the first one
You have to do it more than once before it turns into a hobbit.

13. I hate you and all that you stand for and believe in.
Your every breath is an offense to me.

How can anyone hope to be happy or gracious in a world that allows you to post something like that?

25. It's a good (meaning bad) one. I once entered a pun contest.
I sent in ten entries, hoping one of them would win the top prize, but, alas...

No pun in ten did.

2. Answer from this LOTR geek - kids would be 3/8 Elf, 5/8 Human
Aragorn is all Human, and Arwen is 3/4 Elf. Her father Elrond is half-elven.

So their kids would be 3/8 elf.

Fun fact: Galadriel is Elrond's Mother in Law.

3. Neeeeeerd!
... of course, since I just spent this morning showing off my lightsabers at the sci-fi/fantasy club table at the new student's orientation at my school this morning, I can't really criticize. :P

8. Heh, I gotta save that image.

Hmm. Come to think of it, I don't think we had any Tolkien on the table today. Lotsa books, but no Tolkien. I'm gonna have to rectify that next time. I don't wanna risk my copy of the LOTR trilogy... 2nd edition hardcover. I don't like letting that one outta my sight. But I do have a nice copy of The Hobbit.

4. Wish I could recommend a reply!
I'm pretty sure the books often refer to Elrond as "Elrond Halfelven" or was it "Elrond Half-Elven"?

5. I looked it up on the Encyclopedia of Arda Website
http://www.glyphweb.com/arda/default.asp

Plus I have read LOTR and the Silmarillion about three times each.

I like the Silmarillion because the main villain Morgoth/Melkor was pure evil. Sauron was simply his flunky for the First Age.

7. I need to read the Silmarillion.
I've read the trilogy numerous times, the Hobbit a few. But just never got around to the Silmarillion.

20. Which is what gives both Elrond and Arwen the choice
to become mortal, should they choose to do so. A choice not available to pure elves.

9. Not quite-- Aragorn also has Elvish blood, from Elros
His ancestor is Elros, the twin of Elrond, his father-in-law. Elrond and Elros were each half-elven, which means Elrond also has a trace of elven blood.

18. You're right he does. However it would be very diluted.
Since Elros was the first Numenorean king, back in the very beginning of the Second Age, it would be many generations back. But technically you are correct, so corrected I stand.

24. Yes, which means that Aragorn and Arwen are cousins.
But are they first cousins, as would be the usual relationship between the children of brothers? Or is it a family relationship we have no words for considering that Elros chose mortality, and so lived and died thousands of years before Aragorn was born?

in him from some ancestor. Isn't that why he's so old?
