I mean, sure, on the plus side the singer is going with him, but I imagine that having an upbeat Gladys Knight singing about your failed life and the Pips dancing around and singing about how you couldn't make it and you didn't get far would be about the last thing you could tolerate listening to at that point.

The song was written as "Midnight Plane to Texas" but the producer thought "train" and "Georgia" would be more timeless... good call, I'd say.

6. I really like that song
I remember watching Gladys Knight and the Pips performing the song on TV. Interestingly the original lyrics were "Midnight Plane to Houston" and it was more of a country and western song.

It appears that Fawcett's comment about "midnight plane to Houston" inspired the song, but it didn't appear to have much to do with Lee Majors other than the author knew Fawcett through him.

It is an interesting piece of trivia, though.
