6. Any Musician that channels the spirit of the Divine |
|
I think that music is medium for something primal and universal. And I appreciate anybody who taps into that and shares it.
I believe that Robert Johnson truly did make a deal with the devil
I think that Django Reinhardt's and Bob Marley's music was truly joyous and full of life and love
I think that Hank Sr. and Jerry Lee Lewis probably knew "god" and "satan" pretty well

27. " There are two kinds of music, the good kind and the other kind |

I like the good kind" Louis Armstrong said that and he's right. I like the good kind, too.

Psytrance 2nd.
Sad that your poll doesn't even include the much broader category of electronic.

31. Can I help it if I like most |
|
kinds of music? Lately I've been listening to old stuff (60s and 70s) from pop singers and I've had some fun discovering some artists I probably overlooked the first time around--what can I say; I was into the Monkees, Raiders and other similar artists (I was also only 14 when the 60s ended).
Of course I probably liked some other stuff from then, but seeing that we didn't have such cash, and that our allowance only gave us enough to afford few albums, and that listening to the radio was not always possible, it's amazing I remember a whole lot anyhow. Of course, back then, we could buy 45s, but it really hurt to only hear what the DJs and album labels wanted us to hear, and not have the effect of the whole album.
Kids today have it SO much easier than we did. (And no, I didn't walk three miles to school, uphill both ways with hand-me-down boots the size of small boats. It was only 2 miles, with boots that were actually a size too small, downhill both ways.)
