1. I checked Consumer Reports online for you.

For the 03-07 Dodge Dakota, the areas they highlighted as being far worse than "normal" were the drive system, the suspension system, and brakes. (If you're familiar with the CR rating system - lots of black dots, and half black/half white dots.) This was followed by "minor" transmission problems, and paint & trim. The 4WD models fared worse on all these measures, except paint & trim, than the 2WD models.

The areas highlighted as being far better than normal were the engine, power equipment, audio system and electrical system. (Lots of red dots and half red/half white dots).
