is the black thing the tree?

I have always loved the look of those, but I sure dont have the patience to do anything like that.

2. The black thing is a plastic cap to prevent the gravel from exiting the
drain hole.

I haven't decided what tree to try to grow,
I just wanted to get some turf started.

3. oh, I wondered how long it was going to take
to grow that tree from a seed. Will you find an already growing young tree then?

5. I have two
One is a serissa that is 3 years old. It puts out little pink flowers in the spring, very pretty and easy to care for.
Looks like this:


The other is a fig that I just bought in early spring.

Even though they say they are easy I never had luck keeping a juniper alive.
