2. My dear Prisoner_Number_Six!
How lucky for that kitteh, and for you!

Which one is it?

So very cool, sweetie...

6. I seriously think cat purrs have a healing quality to them. I have PTSD and swear
my heart would harmonize with a cat's purr and I would feel such solace. I think someone should train cats to purr, put them in a room and people could pay to come in and get healed. Like therapeutic massage. LOL

7. I've often thought of having a business where people could pay money to lie down
in a comfortable room with a big pile of kittens. The kittens would learn socialization and it would be so healing for the people who come in. It's hard to be sad when you're covered with kittens.

9. It's never got much past the dreaming stage because I don't know how to get the kittens
without using kitten mills or breeders of purebreds. I'd want it to be a good situation all around, for the customers and the kittens. Maybe it could also be a rescue that adopts out the cats to people. But there would have to be many kittens on hand at all times to make the therapy service really good.

25. OMG. That is my idea of heaven.
That is also how I want to die. When I get too feeble (hopefully in very old age) I'd like someone to start piling kittens on top of me until I go.

:)

10. As usual, the Japanese are ahead of us on this.
Cat cafes in Tokyo.

For $10 an hour, you get a cup of good tea and all the cats you can pet.

Sounds like a good deal to me!

11. In that cafe, you aren't allowed to hold the cats. In my place, I want people to
Edited on Wed Jul-15-09 11:33 PM by grace0418
be covered in as many kittens as they'd like, crawling all over them and being cute. I actually see it being a private room, where you could even nap with the kittens if you like.

14. That sounds even better.
I get something like the cat cafe experience for free - I got my girl from Anti-Cruelty Society, I donate, and sometimes when I have some spare time I walk into their cat room and just hang out with everybody. It really is calming and healing...but it's also kind of painful because I know they all need homes, and I can only have one. :(

Your dream place sounds like a really good idea for the cats as well as the people - rescued feral kittens need socialization!

get so sad and I want to take all the kitties (and dogs) home.

16. It is my massive weakness.
I look at their web site every day. My boss teases me about the "kitty porn."

Once upon a time, becoming a "crazy cat lady" was my biggest fear. Now, it's my ambition. :D

22. LOL! I'm certain I would have several cats if my husband wasn't allergic. The two I had
when we got married were a package deal so he had to learn to live with it, but when the last one goes (he's 16) I probably will be catless for awhile until we move to a bigger place. I'm thinking I need to have an art studio/office where my kitties can hang with me all day.

as they grow up.

30. There's a B&B in the midwest that lends guests cats for their rooms...
I can't remember exactly where it is, but if you're a guest and a cat lover, you may have a cat share your room with you.
My kind of place. Somewhere in Wisconsin I think.

32. Sounds like the nursing home visit business
People bring well-behaved cats and dogs to visit people in nursing homes. There have been studies showing that it eases not only their depression but also their aches and pains and, in some cases, even symptoms of Alzheimer's IIRC.

29. They have some sort of synchronistic effect that puts me to sleep
When they purr like that a wierd green glow starts up and begins to swirl and next thing I know I'm dreaming about the blue snails again.

12. That is the sweetest, cutest, homiest sound in the world.
My girl does that too. She curls up in a tight little black-and-orange tribble ball and starts emitting these rhythmic cooing sounds like a little pigeon.

Sometimes she starts twitching and I think she's having a happy dream, hunting mice and being crowned Warrior Queen.

Sometimes she starts twitching and crying in her sleep and I think she's having a bad dream, and I put my hand on her to say, "no baby, you're not back in that cold steel cage in the shelter all alone. You're here with me on a nice full-size futon that you're slowly pushing me off of even though you're 1/10th my weight."
