Son's surgery a complete success...thanks for all of your wellwishing!
He came out of nine hours of surgery sore as crap and pumping that morphine pump, but he is WELL. He may even have an inch or so on him!

I was soo worried about paralyzation, but all is fine in that dept as well.

They wereable to correct the 52 degree curve in his spine to 38degrees, which is awesome because the doc was afraid of correcting it at all.

I am sooo relieved!

The icu kicks us out for two hours during shift change, so am heading back up in a couple hours, but thanks everyone for all your kind thoughts.

3. What a great report!
That's a stunning result, and I'm glad your boy is doing so well. That pump is now his best friend, but he'll be off that before you know it.

Well done. Well done, indeed!!!!

10. my poor dear
You really have had more than your share of troubles. I am glad that the operation went well and you can try to gather up the raveled shreds of your peace of mind. I can't believe what you have been through.

I hope you are doing well yourself.

12. thank you
I spent the night with him, and can't believe he got the little sleep he did. They had to roll him over to his side, and then the other, and if that was ME I would have hollered like a cat in a room of rocking chairs! He just grimaced. Well that made me just bawl.

I just keep telling him that magic word...Temporary...It is behind you now, and you can't do anything but get better and better from here. I am home so I can get a little sleep and am heading back up again in a few hours. He keeps saying 'go home mom', but sorry, more than a few hours away is all "I" can stand!

He was my best wheelchair pusher, and he will be again. Yall cant believe how big a help he was to me during my own recovery these last few months.
I am SO proud of him. Thanks again for your hugs.
