A sincere angry f#ck you can be cathartic!
I had a show down at a stop sign with a bike rider.
He pulled up to my drivers window at a stop sign and began yelling at me in a very threatening and aggressive manner.
He said I passed too close, I said he was 15 feet from the curb and if you ride way out there, your gonna get passed and it'll be close.
I was angry and getting heated at his threats to get even with me.
I screamed FUCK YOU as I rolled up the window and drove on.

Here's the kicker; It Felt Great!
I'm mild mannered guy who seldom, if ever, gets the chance to scream fuck you in anger at anyone.
Two minutes later I felt so much better for not holding it in.
It felt so good to let it out.

1. One of the finest "FUCK YOU!" moments ever...
One of my mentors, unfortunately deceased now, was a legend in the computer world. It is impossible to quantify the wealth I learned from him. He was generally reserved and rarely lost his temper.

In our office, there was a moron who listened to Rush in his cubicle and had a productivity index of about 0.3 on a 10 scale. Every once in a while, he would randomly moan something like "FLAAA-mer" (as in "flaming liberal") or some other Rushism.

Anyway, my mentor and I were out in the smoking area so he could have a butt. The moron came out through the door and interrupted our discussion with "What is this, a liberals' convention?" My mentor, who was a solid Libertarian, yelled back "FUCK YOU!" I was in shock.

Apparently, it shocked the shit out of the moron too, as he immediately assumed a submissive position and wanted to know if we could teach him Unix. He couldn't figure out how to use Notepad on a PC, so obviously learning anything useful was out of the question.

2. yes, I do this every couple of years, and it does feel great !

my husband worries that someone is gonna shoot me from their pickup truck.

I think most aggressive men in pickups aren't expecting a 54 year old woman to scream at them.
