Wait wait wait. Amy Winehouse is famous for SINGING? |
I just heard my first Amy Winehouse song. It was a cover of a good song I was listening to on youtube. She cropped up in the related vids section and I thought I'd give a listen.
That lasted for about seven seconds. What's the deal with her? Is she being tortured while they record? I don't get it... I mean, I know Bob Dylan proved you don't need to have a classically good voice in order to make good music, but let's not lose our heads. If Amy Winehouse is famous for singing, she should stick to just being a train wreck.

1. That's how subjective music is. I hear nothing like what you describe |
I just hear a soulful voice.

4. She got famous for being marketed as a deep, soulful singer without having to be deep or soulful |
In addition, her voice has a honking quality that I find rather off-putting.
