It will be 'twenty-ten' not two thousand and ten.
Not sayin' what was in that pipe that made me muse on this but.....

If one remembers back, the year was 'nineteen ninety-nine' not 'one thousand ninety nine'. Some folks back then were moderately curious how our society would name the next year. Would it be called 'twenty oh-oh' or 'two thousand'? Then after that would it be 'oh-one', 'two thousand and one' or 'twenty oh-one'?

I am anouncin', right here in the DU Lounge, this prediction for next year: Society will phase out calling it 'two thousand and ten', reverting/switching over to the easier 'twenty ten'.

Hopefully you heard it here first.
