damp sheets work good - especially in combo with a fan
damp body in front of the fan is how I am working right now! miss my pool:( an hour or so in it was excersize plus cooled the core of my mass down. Evap in front of a fan doesn't last long enough. Thank dog it cools off most nights here.
the DIY AC are cute but it is too hot to go get parts:P
never touch water, myself - or sports drinks (except on very strenuous days once or twice a year) sounds like I am well adapted plus they forgot to mention the cultural adaptation of late nights and afternoon siestas.

Not real AC as it doesn't employ a refrigeration cycle. More of a swamp cooler. Let me know if it works.
