If they had a new voice cast come in, it wouldn't have finished the season, no matter the level of writing.
I just googled the pay rate for the primary Simpson voices, a cool $400k per episode.
Damn. Good work if you can get it.
I wouldn't care if what I was reading was pure dreck, I'd hope the show went on for twenty more years.
