Should I sell my chair to pay taxes

Time Magazine Design of the Century and really really comfortable.

I've got two that I'm thinking of putting on eBay but it would hurt because they were purchased new in 49 or 50 by my Aunt and Uncle.

14. extensions

i know this sounds stupid, but you have to pay what you owe when you file for an extension. at least what you obviously owe. but they will work out payment plans. probably helps to be early.

7. string out the gov't on taxes

don't pay them a dime while dumbya's in office. You can work out an arrangement. I earned tons of money in the dot.com days and then boom, crash. I owe them $$ but I refuse to pay them anything but the minimum while this schmuck is the prez. Work out an arrangement (pm me for the inside details) and pay the bottom dollar until Kerry becomes prez. Then pay it off.

9. Don't sell. I just this year got out from under w/ IRS ---

they took payment in the form of just keeping my refunds for the last four years.

If you won't be getting refunds -- STILL don't sell. They'll do payment plans with you. There'll be P&I, but IMO the alternative is unthinkable. Don't part w/ those chairs.

11. You may be surprised how friendly the IRS is

I file late all of the time (not this year, right) and when I eventually call them, they have always been extremely helpful and nice - amazingly so. They will definitely help you out with a payment plan or other options. You probably do not even need an accountant.

*edit* If you're self-employed you really should talk to an accountant. Are you taking every deduction you can? You should be getting money back - like Halliburton.
