My Whimsical Poem: Disappearing
I fall over
As fatigue grips me
And I
Disappear into the bed.

Where did I go?
For I am gone

There’s not even a ripple
No mark to show
That I was there

You will look in vain
For me
The sheets are smooth
and taut
No wrinkles, no bumps

I have disappeared
Into the bed.

I am smiling
From wherever I am
I do not even know

For I
Have disappeared
Into the bed

And I may never
Return

1. Ohhhhh....
That's cute!

You're invisible!

And, somebody just got new sheets, cool cotton sheets.

:hi:

That was nice, thanks Peg!

Ah! I'm glad to see you tonight!

Actually, I don't have any new sheets...

But this is just a fantasy that showed up in my head today!

I had fun with it, and I'm glad you enjoyed it too...

Thanks, sweetie!

7. I've DONE that.
You just described an old zen meditation technique I used to practice from time to time. And you did it perfectly.

11. Oh, for the ability ...
... to disappear into the bed
to pull the sheets up, over my head
and wake up invisible, unseen

Maintaining the capacity
to feel, to experience
from afar - from under the blankets

And left with the enviable talent of being able to dream

As always, Peggy - lovely.

12. Interesting. I like beds for several reasons, and these days, unfortunately,
sleeping tops the list! See you whenever I can next get the internet...

15. Hi, Peggy!
This reminds me of the stories my mother would tell about sleeping on a Feather Tick. She grew up on a farm, and she and my grandma would save all the down to make feather ticks for all of them. She said it was like sleeping on a cloud. Thanks for the memory!
