|
If you had to start doing with out, what would be the last to go?

2. When I lived overseas for 8 years |
|
I would sometimes wake up in the middle of the night craving, at various times, Mexican food, barbecue, and buffalo wings. I tried to create some of these things in my own kitchen, but they never lived up to my favorite restaurants' versions.
When I planned a trip home, I would make a list of places I wanted to eat...before I even made a list of the people I wanted to see.

5. My Grandfather was overseas in Europe for ww2 |
|
and he craved eggs..not powdered eggs but eggs you get from a chicken. While they were hanging out in their gunners nest one of the boys took a five gallon tank of gas to a local farmer and he came back with a helmet full of eggs..MMMMMM MMMMM! you just know they loved that.
Even today, my Grandfather demands fresh eggs and if they aren't so fresh, he will get some more..that European spoiled my Grandfather.

I love pizza, but there are so many other interesting things to do with the same ingredients, minus the dough. I could do without it.

10. I think coffee would be the last to go. |
|
I'm pretty sure I could live on coffee.
First to go would probably be bread.
Food I can live without would include licorice and yams, to name a couple.

12. It would be one of the first things I'd eliminate (it and wine) because of its smell |
|
It makes me feel sick to smell coffee, wine is even worse.

18. Great curry story from an English friend of mine..... |
|
Edited on Mon Jul-20-09 10:46 AM by arbusto_baboso
He was in the Royal Navy in the 60s, during the Indonesian Confrontation.
Anyway, his carrier, HMS Bulwark, was involved in joint manuvers with the Indian Navy, and its one aircraft carrier. At one point, they were more than a mile off the Indian ship's port quarter. He said you could STILL smell the curry coming from that ship!
Imagine how strong that aroma would had to have been on board!
