3. And notice its a Democrat talking about increasing penalties etc in the news report |
( or at least Fox had a D after his name; ya never know with them), but Democrats have been every bit the equal of repubs when it comes to active complicity in the "drug war" madness....and in my state , it was a right wing libertarian repub that started a lonely and politically risky crusade to stop the madness ( the one good thing he did as gov). The local Dem establishment fell all over themselves to denounce and mock him for this, the one positive, sensible thing he ever did.

4. not a Dem--another "mislabeling" by Fox |
although may actually have been accidental this time; can't see where they'd see an advantage to label a "tough on drugs" conservative as a Dem.

8. No, it was former NM governor Gary Johnson-went on a lonely crusade for drug legalization |
I should have made that clearer too. Bill Richardson did advocate a medicinal marijuana bill and signed it when it recently passed the NM legislature, but overall, here and elsewhere, I've seen Democrats being every bit as neanderthal as repubs on this issue. ( in my opinion, anyway---- and I have not smoked for many years, but consider the drug war to be insanity and am disgusted that so many Democratic politicians are indistinguishable from repubs on this issue)
