So anyway, she read me a paragraph from Lewis Lapham's latest from Harper's over the phone tonight, and yeah, we were married and divorced, and are 700 miles apart, and talk every night (at least), and I miss her, and the dogs and cats at the house that love me true (her too, but she's there). So I have my job here (after two years of unemployment), and she's there, and I don't know of another woman who will read Lewis Lapham over the phone, and what is a guy to do?

3. Just subscribed. Just employed.
First treat I gave myself was to subscribe to Harper's. Cheap, cheap, cheap. Second was to get that pitcher. Third will be to figure out Microsoft Publisher. There's romance for you in the 21st century.

4. Can't help with the romance angle
but Microsoft Publisher is not that hard to learn. There's a tutorial which is helpful in getting started but after that it's more a matter of just playing with it. It's certainly not as hard as some of the other desktop publishing programs.

Good luck on all fronts!
