Do you live in Hawaii now?

I lived there in 1979 and 80. Got married there, my husband (ex now) was in the Coast Guard.

6. I do indeed, since right around the time of Selection 2000.

My job here, however, has been circling the drain for the past year and a half, and there's not a lot else out here that doesn't involve serving drinks with little paper umbrellas in them. I am presently seriously considering a job on the North American continent.

8. I have a lot of great memories of Hawaii!

lived in a great little apartment in Kaneohe, worked my first grown up job in the property and casualty department of Mutual of Omaha (Mutual General). Everyone at work called me Karen, and I was always too shy to ask why. When I finally did, I was told, "the last white girl that worked here was named Karen, you look like her).

I was only 18, and too timid to drive around the island, so I took the bus everywhere.

The beaches, ah, the beaches.

My children both remembered and called me, and my best friend from high school emailed me, and my ex husbands mother emailed me, but nobody here at home remembered.

3. Sorry it is late in the day. Normally, I post such things between

8 and 10 am, but as I mentioned in SEVERAL places, I am on vacation this week and next week with the family, and am hit-or-miss for internet, and I do not have the free time I normally would.

as I have been hit and miss myself.

Been so busy getting things packed up and taking care of business in my quest to move by August 3rd. Trying to take care of anything health and dental before I lose my insurance at the end of the month, also.

9. I am not really too worried about the insurance

I have been paying my premium for years, and have been to the doctor twice in the last five years. Both times for strep throat. I have been so lucky healthwise, knock on wood.

I was just getting my female yearly stuff taken care of , and my teeth cleaning and exams done.

But, I did get my Cobra offer, which states that President Obama signed the AARA on February 17, 2009 , which could reduce my health insurance premiums during my period of unemployment for up to 9 months. I might look into that and keep my coverage. I will read it all more carefully later and decide.
