F*cking HBO. Did anybody else here know that "Carnivale" was cancelled after 2 seasons?? |
|
I didn't. Until I finished Season 2 tonight and went online to add Season 3 to my Netflix queue. No can do - cancelled after Season 2.
I kinda liked the show and will never know how it resolves itself.
fuck netflix - they should put a disclaimer on their show description to save me from my own ignorance. fuck hbo - just because fuck pat buchanan - I just saw his ugly mug on TV as I type this..... ewwww. I feel dirty now
I know you don't care. I barely care myself.

I'm about to finish up the last summer's Weeds and Carnivale was a possibility for my next serial fixation.

It's still a really good "period" show....... Very authentic looking with great depression era characters. With a very cool good vs. evil plot.
but then again - no real ending.......

Three years ago.
I learned this lesson when St. Elsewhere got canceled: never fall so deeply in love with a night-time, weekly drama, that you can't easily walk away from it.
Carnivale was very, VERY cool, but I'm not sure even they knew where they were going. The first season was great, second left me less than satisfied. I hated what they did to Sophie.

3. Deadwood seemed to end with little or no resolution as well. |
|

I watched that show on HBO...waited a week between episodes, months between Season 1 and 2. Then it was cancelled. I was pissed. x(

8. CARNIVALE was outstanding - but I did have this premonition |
|
After Season 2 wrapped up, I wondered if HBO executives were looking at the season finale and asking, "Well, where do the producers take it from here?" They might have felt that Season 3 would become predictable and all too dull despite a stellar cast.
That said, I miss Carnivale dearly. Clancy Brown was just so good at being bad.
