How are you today?

I hope I wasn't missed too much Friday and Monday. I had a great time with my mom. We did a lot. Saturday we went to an exhibition about islamic ornamentical art. Very fascinating.
Sunday we went to a town called Limburg (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Limburg_an_der_Lahn). Old town with a cathedral and a lot of timber-framed building. Fortunately the town didn't get destroyed in WW2. On the way back to Frankfurt we drove through the Taunus (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taunus) and yesterday we went to Lorsch (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lorsch).
And in the evenings we cooked us yummy dinners :D

Today it is back to work. Ack. Not really in the mood for it. It was so good to have some days off.

Another week has started here. Slowly but surely getting used to working dayshift but missing the time at home with my husband who is on opposite shift from me.

And of course we all missed you! Wow! What a fantastic itinerary you planned for you and your Mom! You are a great tour guide. Glad to hear that you both had a great time, but then I knew you would.

Same stuff happening here. Went rowing last night and had a fantastic workout, and the river was just perfect!

Made a new recipe on the weekend, Pasta with Prosciutto and Melon - very tasty.

The recipe is scanned right now, so I'll type it out for you. It truly is very tasty and the combination of prosciutto and melon is exquisite. As a matter of fact, many times I'll just wrap some prosciutto around a slice of melon for a first course.

Gotta head out now. Walking to work so leaving a little earlier than usual.

Things are going good for me. My retirement plan has taken off with the upswing in the stock market. I'm hoping this is a sign that the recession is near an end.

I have a date this evening, if she keeps it. I think she will, but so far she's been inconsistent. She's canceled twice on me and we've gone out once. I will just keep assuming that she is really interested, but I'm beginning to wonder. I'm getting mixed signals. :) There's an old song about a guy who keeps getting blown off by his girlfriend, "It's your life and you can do what you want. But please don't keep me waiting. Please don't keep me waiting. 'Cause I'm so tired, tired of waiting, tired of waiting on you." It keeps running through my head. We are going to a nice place for dinner tonight and I'm going to give her some of my stories. We'll see how it goes.

Has that guy you were talking to got around to asking you out yet?

43. Busy weekend

at my parents' house, moving out furniture and making room in the living room. That will become dad's bedroom when he can return home. They live in a 2-floor house. Brushed and fed the cat on Saturday. Went to a birthday party and karaoke later that night. Had brunch with my mom the next day, got a flat tire, broke 2 lug stems changing it, after just having the tires rotated and other car work done 2 days ago, had a late lunch with mom and my brother (mom drove me), then had to stay in Sunday night because I didn't want to drive far until I took the car back to the dealership on Monday morning. :(

Still found time to run 7km. :P

49. Yes, my grandparents told me that, too.

They liked PA because the rolling hills reminded them of Slovakia. :)

We see him a few times a year, because he lives in a different state (about a 9-hr. drive). He comes home for holidays and we go there maybe twice a year to visit. We miss him.
