Holy crapola. (pics)
10:30 last night big big big storm out here in greater Denver. Tornado warning but no tornado. But big hail.

Needless to say I'm fixing a lot of screens today. Fortunately no windows.

Looked like a disaster movie out there by morning. The garden is, well, toast.

And the dog's like, WTF DOODZ?? :D

But, nobody hurt but the fruits. :)

1. Yikes! What did the hail do to vehicles?
Sorry about your garden. What a horrible feeling....

5. My wife's car and my motorbike were in the garage, so they're OK.
My old truck was out in the thick of it. It's hard to distinguish what might be damage from the hail -- but at least now there are little dings on the roof to match the ones everywhere else. :D

2. I had hail damaged peaches one year that were ugly as sin, but...
... they were the sweetest damn peaches I think I had ever had and they were dirt cheap because of their appearance. If you cut out the scars, most of the fruit was still there and oh I wish I had gotten more and canned them!!!

3. Ok, with a new baby in your house,
I'll admit to being nervous about clicking on pics of "Holy Crapola"

Give your garden a week or so, you'll be surprised how resilient plants can be.

4. Heh. Yeah, we ran for the basement, baby in tow.
Very, very loud.

One of the huskies got out a gate that blew open, a neighbor found him in like 20 minutes and we ran out to get him with the baby.

She slept through the whole thing. :D

10. We think alike, Rosie. I expected a dirty diaper or something!
Robb, glad you are all okay AND that this message was not about a dirty diaper! :)

6. YIPES!
I'm so glad everyone's okay!

Are storms like this common in greater Denver?

7. Isn't all hail, by law, "golf ball sized"?
Every report ever describes hail as being "golf ball sized" -- never sweet pea, or blueberry, or marble, or gumball, or even ping-pong ball size.

8. yowza!
we had torrential rains and just a bit of hail up here in the northern front range, but nothing too serious. the thunder was booming right overhead for a bit, though. that was damn cool :D

12. Smart.
Growing your marijuana crop in those red barns shielded them from damage. That's thinkin'!
