1. And look at all the trash lying around there.
I must say, great pic, but the LEM looks like something built in someone's backyard this close up.

And ... why are there no stars visible? Must be fake. And there's an alien artifact, too. :tinfoilhat:

3. You probably already know but...
The LeM upper stage is essentially a tent with metal tubes for the basic shape and a special mylar for the fabric. The lower stage was covered with gold mylar to protect it and the stuff strapped to it (like the rover) from damage in flight. That wad of gold foil to the right of the LeM was used to cover the rover. Apollo 15 landed on a bit of a hill so that exaggerates its flimsy appearance.

And you just KNOW that thing is filled with Hardees wrappers.

Of course the cameras in use were stopped down for daylight exposure, so they could not possibly have recorded stars. When shooting star clusters on film, amatuer astronomers often have exposure times of over an hour.

6. Yes, I know that. ;)
I just wanted to make fun of the ones not believing that we ever landed on the moon. Given the unfiltered sunlight hitting the surface, even a bright blue sky would have shown pitch black.

:hi:

5. that was my first thought as well...
the lunar lander looks like a complete hunk of junk, compared to what we're conditioned to from what we see in the movies or tv sci-fi.

12. I forgot. Late '70 or early '71.
It was Apollo 15. They were on the surface for three days.

10. Clearly photoshopped
The moon landings were a hoax!

Seriously! I, like, saw it on an internet site PLUS people at DU have said that, so it must be true!

I am not a nut!

11. Dave Scott dropped the LM in a hole :p
He also stood out the top hatch to do a visual geologist survey of the area...only time the top hatch was used in non-docking.
