"Poet at the Wheel"
I lie in bed with the car lying flat on my side
Can I ever crawl out from under
Living together its weight leans on my heart
I tense as it drags my body wedded to this acquiescent metal
Sideways with bent pelvis and head every morning
My body reluctantly angles under the steering wheel
Slowly we back ourselves into the world

How did I miss this?
It's perfect...
The metaphors are wonderful...
And I love the imagery too!
I'm sorry I didn't see this earlier...
Thank you for your continuing efforts...
