1. inspiration comes in many forms, not always in relation to art |

it may arrive as a inspiration for a new toy... inspiration for a new adventure in art can be derived from many outside circumstances and influences, sometimes these influences are arrived at by many (including mentioned above) actions and happenings even non-happenings... the point is anything can bring about inspiration, the artist is actually waiting for the moment of "a-ha" to arrive when the moments described through language create the named "inspiration"... happy "a-ha-ing!".

If you're waiting for inspiration to come up and hit you on the head, you'll be waiting all day. That's not to say that inspiration is not a necessary thing. Just that one can be more pro-active and go out seeking it instead of waiting for it.
If you're waiting for inspiration, you're just being lazy. :)
