The BlueIris Semi-Nightly Poetry Break, 7/22/09
"Walking"

The morning owl calls
from the fog on the ridge

a dark bell sound going away
reminding me I am alone
in this world.

The dog flushing quail
has gone a great distance,

dances beyond the glass walls
that seem to separate

this day from the day before
this moment from the moment after

and I wait
this long breath
a shadow within the fog
listening to
the owl

each moment gone
no moment expected.

3. Hi. And HEY. When did you start sporting a Maxfield Parrish pic in your posts?
I loves me some M.P. I have a big, fat gallery book at home.

4. some time within the past week....
I used it when I first got here and then found that butterfly gif and used the dragonfly avatar with that. It is a Moody Blues poster and my avatar is the ablum cover for NIghts in White Satin which is where Tuesday Afternoon song is located...a theme, if you will...also my journal got its title from a line in the song.

Thanks for noticing and asking. :)

5. Interesting. Nice theme you've got going there.
I was kinda wondering about your screen name.

6. My dear BlueIris!
Ooh, this is lovely, and so atmospheric...

Such sparse language, yet so evocative...

Thank you!
