I NEED Your Serious Help ASAP |
|
......I have received a job offer for better pay and position. They have started their background check.....this afternoon while I was away they called saying they need 5-w-2s for certain years with 3 different employers.......I have done an exhausted search and have found 2 of them and I have found my final check stubs for the last three periods....for the life of me I have no clue other than they were misplaced during a cross country move last year.
Unfortunately 1 of the employers is no longer in business and they no longer call former employers for varification.
Any ideas what would work...I dont have time to ask the IRS or ask the old employers for w2s....do you think they will accept the last check stubs...
HELP and thanks for your advise...

1. I would explain the situation... |
|
And give them what you have. Explain fully...
What else can you do?
That's what I'd do...
You could also ask them if there was anything else they would take in its place...
Good luck!

2. How long ago did you have these jobs? |
|
I think if it's been a while, it's quite reasonable to offer the company pay stubs. I would say don't panic and just explain the situation to them.
For the company that went out of business, if they're using a legit background service like Lexis-Nexis or ChoicePoint, those companies should be able to verify that the company was in existance during the dates you reference.
Good luck!

7. That's a pretty serious "background" check! |
|
My DHS background check only went back 7 years for employment and address history, and required no documentation. Of course, I suppose they can get any info from the IRS they want themselves. Are you going to be handling a lot of cash or very expensive equipment or something? Seems like if you can be bonded and have a clean record that should be enough. Good luck!
