So, what's for LUNCH/DINNER, y'all?
Just past 7 p.m. here, 1 p.m. Eastern Time in the US.

Dinner for us in a few minutes: Vitello tonato and a crusty, sesame-seed dark Italian bread for CMW (I don't eat veal); and vegetarian pizza with extra mozzarella for me. Garden salad with croutons for both of us. And a nice red table wine.

What're y'all havin'? :hi:

4. I (guiltily) love peanut butter.
Unfortunately, all of the peanut butter I've tried here really-really-really kinda sucks. x(

Invite me for dinner once, wouldja! :D

32. How often do you get to The Bronx?
I do have to warn you...the peanut butter and fruit wasn't by choice. The peanut butter tub fit my budget and the fruit was dent-rack produce. It's crap having a $6/week food budget because your job sucks(I'm in a 100% commission sales position in the Lawn and Garden dept of Sears in Brooklyn) and you can't actually get the time off to go on interviews for real jobs.

17. My dear Heidi!
Ah, my lunch will be the rest of the salad I had yesterday when my husband and I went out for lunch...

I always get it with the dressing on the side, so it won't get soggy, and then I use my own dressing at home...

It's a win-win!

And dinner is too far away to even contemplate!

Your dinners do sound wonderful, and very tasty!

Bon appetit!

:toast:

20. A BLT on wheat and Broccoli salad with Iced tea.
That BLT had mayo and cheese and it was on a nice whole wheat bread. The salad was nice and crunchy and I am now stuffed to the gills--almost to the point of needing a nap.

Dinner tonight is at my Mom's. Hard to say what she'll be serving, but she always makes something pretty good.

Edited on Thu Jul-23-09 06:26 PM by hippywife
lunch was organic salami on soft wheat bread with a big slice of homegrown tomato and some banana pepper rings, some grapes and homemade tollhouse cookies with orange zest in them.

I dunt eat veal, either. :(

Edited to add: Okay, I'm not hungry but I fixed the SO a two duck egg frittata with sliced baby bella mushrooms, onions, zucchini, yellow summer squash all caramelized in butter, threw some chunks of homegrown tomato and a four Italian cheese shredded blend on top with a little garlic, S&P. Wheat toast and cold muskmelon chunks on the side.

30. Lunch: two hot dog musubi. Dinner: penne with meat sauce and salad.
Musubi are a common local snack consisting of some form of meat (Spam is the most common!) over a block of sticky rice, wrapped with a strip of nori seaweed.

Tonight we had salad, ciabatta bread with fresh tomatoes and basil, and stuffed shells with chard. It is just so cool to go out and pick fresh ingredients for dinner.
