Question to Everyone: How long did it take you to reach 1000 posts??

I'm just about to hit the Big 1000 :headbang: :bounce: :7 and it's taken me nearly 2 years (I joined on August 5, 2007). :)

I'm curious how long it took others to reach 1000; I wonder what the DU "average" is?....

1. Don't remember.

At one point, I was averaging 10,000 posts per year. I think that slowed a bit, though.

a long time...in fact I got called on it. I hadn't realized that it was a contest.

17. "contest" - well, not necessarily a "contest", but i can relate to your comment...

personally, i started commenting much more frequently lately, after i realized that... having a 3-digit post count makes one look like a newbie, even if they've been posting for years.

i can't tell you how many times i've been "welcomed to DU", even after posting for well over a year and having well over 500 posts!

in fact, i got my latest "belated welcome" about a month ago, when i had 600 or 700 posts! -- and at that time i thought, "ok, it's time to join the four-digit club!", so i started commenting much more actively than i normally would! :silly:


well, at least now "the race to the Big 1000" is over, and i finally officially reached my DU adulthood! :D (i'm a big kid now!!) :P :headbang:

I started posting in May 2002, and am now just under 1000 posts. I expect I will hit #1000 shortly.

but I still think it took about a year. Really hit this palce hard from 2006 - 2009.

15. I've been here since 2001

and I think I have less than 2000 posts. It probably took me 4 years or more to reach the first 1000. I am much more of a lurker, but I love DU so much for becoming informed and being entertained. DU saved my ass during the beginning of the Chimperor years when I was certain I was the only furious person out in the wilderness. What a releif to find a community where I found people who felt like me!
