Coasters
So... Since the fire last year, I've been staying with other people and doing that, I've been trying to live like a normal person. One of the things I do now that I never did when I was alone is use coasters.

You know what... these freakin things are really getting on my ninnies. First I tried these ceramic ones but the condensation on the glass puddles and rolls off onto the table anyway. Useless. Now, I got these plastic ones with a lip and cork in the middle but... the condensation puddles inside the lip and when I pick up the glass, the coaster sticks to it for a few inches then falls and splashes water all over, plus the bottom of the glass is soaked and drips all over me. Worse then useless, down right annoying.

So... What is the answer I need here, what is a good kind of coaster to get?

1. The absorbent sandstone type.

They absorb all the water so you don't get puddling. :hi:

ETA: Or even unglazed terra cotta.

15. I think you can find them without spending a whole lot.
Places like Tuesday Morning or some other discount stores. I think I've even seen them in the little housewares/gift sections of drug stores.

Ahoy there, matey!

:hi:

16. I spend a lot of time in seasonal places, but in the off season, and always find them
discounted. There is no substitute, IMO. I collect them when I see them and give them as gifts.

Ahoy back atcha!

:hi:

I had already tried google, thats how I ended up with the cork ones but they don't really work. Thats why I wanted to ask people here what was good.

11. I had never thought about 'em before. :^)
I made a giant "coaster" out of some leftover floor tile. I put that sticky back felt stuff on the back of the tile. We only have the one table in the LR, so it works pretty well. :hi:

4. Hippywife is right!
The sandstone ones absorb all that water, and never drip or leak!

We use them all the time!

9. I thought of paper towels but...
I'm on a wicked budget and don't want to keep paying if I can get something that will work permanently.

12. Ha! I'm sending a real old magazine insert back I just found
Doubleday One Dollar Book Club. I don't know how old it is, but it predates zip codes! When my five books arrive, I will be billed 99¢ for shipping and handling ;)
