Emergen-C.
Gimme some of that.

Might not actually be boosting my immune system, but tastes delicious and gives me the illusion (?) that I'm doing something healthy. At any rate, it can't be bad for you.

6. I've never taken it,
and I don't remember the last time I had a cold. More than ten years ago, at least.

C is a myth - you just pee away the surplus.

Better to drink a glass of orange juice, or eat an orange, or something like that.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaah-chooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

4. It's mostly a placebo.. IMO
And you are MUCH better off getting your C from citrus . Plus , most people don't realize but too much vitamin C is
(as with all vitamins) is bad for you. I regard it and other stuff as just slightly better than snake oil. It's healthier to get your vitamins from food and NOT from supplements. Why waste your money when a simple glass of OJ will do? Btw, working professionally with antibodies and immunity gives me a BIT of knowledge

5. well, it works for me
and has for years. Placebo..I don't know. I am not really the type to fall for a placebo effect.

7. There's no 'type' where placebos are involved -
it's how the body reacts, and if you didn't get a cold, it's because you didn't get a cold.

Vitamin C overload does nothing. That's been debunked for a long time now.

BUT, if the placebo is working for you, that's good.................

8. It isn't just vitamin C
it has a lot of amino acids and other vitamins.

I was first introduced to it by the director of the massage therapy school where I worked. I came to work hung over, but I didnt wan't to admit it, so I claimed I was getting sick. My boss gave me water mixed with Emergen-C, and I drank it. Within 30 minutes I felt great and the hangover was gone. I didn't really have any expectations, I just didn't want to admit that I had gone out drinking on a night prior to having to work.

I have used it ever since when I have felt out of sorts for whatever reason. I rarely drink anymore.

9. Good!
Moderation. I hate to admit that all the adults who preached "moderation" to me as I was growing up were, in fact, right.

But youth is about excess, and it certainly is fun, finding those boundaries, isn't it?

Whatever works for you is a wonderful thing........................

10. I know you are speaking the truth here about Vitamin C, but
would Emergen-C be a healthier alternative to Gatorade (which contains HFCS)?

I have read that the best way to add flavor to water is to mix it with fruit juice, but the last time I went grocery shopping, it seemed as if all of the fruit juices are from concentrate!

Then again, maybe I'm just not shopping at the right store.
