5. No,not captain Jack.
But everyone else were normal folks.not models, not super skinny, not perfect teeth. that was so right. And he loved Ianto Jones.

6. Except for Jack, they're all 'people next door' types. :)
From the beginning, Gwen and Tosh were both cute but not supermodel types. Ianto is a fairly tall handsome man, but not built like a greek diety. And Owen and Rhys were both fairly ordinary looking guys.

7. That's not "Torchwood", it's British TV in general.
They (in general...) have no problem putting average looking people on TV.

8. Captain Jack is so handsome
he is unreal!

I love Gwen but I didn't realise till recently that she was Gwyneth in a Dr Who episode . It all ties in very nicely.I believe it was the episode with Charles Dickens and the rift.

11. It makes the characters that much...
more "real". We can relate to them better -- they are us. Ianto's sister and brother in law for example -- they were great. And Rhys too... you just like them soooo much for who they are - not what they look like. Jack is a hottie though - those kisses with Ianto were real teeth sucking kisses..... yummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

13. And I loved how Ianto explained it to his sister
"it's not other guys. It's just HIM. I want to be with him."

   (for that & other reasons)
