5 or 6 years ago, I was invited to go to a concert here in Columbus by my friend Sarah. An oh so hot little woman that worked with me at Nationwide as a tester and had a part time job as a Jaeger girl :D I will miss her sooo much when I leave Ohio... anyway... The concert was Hootie and the Blowfish, which...ehhh, I really did not want to go but she was meeting her new guy for the first time and did not want to do so alone, so she had her friend Edie going but Edie insisted on Sarah getting her a date... so there I was, heh. We went and had dinner and a few drinks first... and a few shots... and some more drinks yet somehow still made it to the show early enough that the opening act had not yet come on stage. We got some beers and made our way to our seats just a few minutes before they came out on stage. Now... this is at the now closed Polaris Amphitheater that sat around 2k in front of the stage and then had an open grassy area that would hold another 2k... There was about 30 people there... ughh... this was looking like a long night... at least edie was very hot and very friendly :D
Out onto the stage comes some guy who says "Columbus Ohio, please welcome Big Head Todd and the Monsters!"
oh... good... a garage band, I thought... sigh.
The next two hours had all 30 of us dancing in the aisles, wailing on our air guitars and being treated to one of the best performances I've ever seen. These guys played like they were in front of a packed MSG, it was rock and roll at it's finest. Keep your eyes open for them to come to a concert hall near you and make sure you see them, you will not regret it.
So... smoke a fatty... have a few shots... turn up the volume wicked loud and get ready to rock old school and enjoy the goodness that is before you for... Tonight, I present to you Voodoo Chile performed by Big Head Todd and the Monsters.
