Wanna do a good deed? (Especially if you're familiar with cities on old Route 66 or Italian)
On the celiac discussion board that I frequent, there's a very nice Italian gentleman named Martin who is about to undertake a driving tour of America in a few weeks. His English isn't that fluent, and other than telling him about Whole Foods Market and pointing him to a list of their locations, I couldn't give him a lot in the way of suggestions. I'm not sure this is going to end well. I'm sure he has an Italian language guide to Route 66 (though the fact that he thinks it goes to San Francisco suggests that he may not) but considering the rural areas he'll have to traverse and the need to find gluten-free food every day, I'm a bit worried. I appreciate that it's against the rules to organize an invasion of another site, but this is just for truth, justice and the Great Diagonal Way. In other words, don't go if you're only going to make fun of Martin's English. You don't even have to register to post there; you can post as a guest. The thread is here: http://www.celiac.com/gluten-free/index.php?showtopic=59822 If you can help, great. If not, well, maybe it'll make a good Jim Jarmusch movie.:)

1. send him to the Thorn Tree
Lonely Planet's forum

besides the US group there are health, food, and disabilities sections

Biggest problem is there isn't much left of 66.

2. In Tulsa
there is a Whole Foods and there is an Akins Natural Foods. Both have gluten-free foods:
