May I please have some vibes for my Uncle Marty?

Uncle Marty has non-hodgkins lymphoma. He is in the hospital now. They have drained the water from around his heart. He is having trouble breathing on his own, but hopefully he will be able to breathe. He has had a lot of operations recently.

It's scary. He has two kids, Josie (10) and Zach (15) and he is such a great father. Josie and Zach are homeschooled. I don't know if their mom is much in the picture anymore since the divorce. I hope that Marty can get through this, but my mom said that Jackie Kennedy died from non-hodgkins lymphoma.

I hope the kids' mother is on the scene. They need her now.

There are a lot of treatments available for non-Hodgkins lymphoma. Good doctors know what to do. I bet he'll be fine.

Hopefully, they'll find something for him. My grandmother was in tears about this on the phone a couple days ago. He's my only uncle on my father's side. Marty is her youngest so it most be difficult for her. :hug:

3. Oh, honey -

he's YOUNG! I didn't realize that - I should have. Non-Hodgkin's is a young person's disease, and I have a couple of friends who had it in their late thirties, early forties, and they are FINE. One lost his hair, but it all grew back, and the other sailed through just fine, hair and all.

And that was at least ten years ago, so things are so much better now.

4. I have a friend who was diagnosed with non-Hodgkins

about 18 years ago. Went through many bouts of treatment, and finally got a stem-cell transplant over 3 years ago, which seems to have cured him.
