Public Service Announcement: Not every single and childless woman is desperate for a baby.
"Hey, you don't need a husband to have a baby." *furtive wink*

^^ Truly unnecessary.

7. Right. But I'd love it if there were more babies in my family for me to spoil.
I 'd love to have a family baby in town for me to play with regularly.

3. When I was in my prime breeding age, single motherhood was
still being discouraged, which allowed me (as an unmarried woman) to sigh sadly when someone brought up the idea of children...then I left the room and snickered.

4. Same goes for married women. Everyone in my husband's family seems to think that
we're just procrastinating or we just don't realize that it's getting to be too late for us. They just have to keep asking. None of them stop to consider that maybe we just aren't able to have children and they are bringing up painful memories every time they ask. That's not the case for us, but still, it could be. :eyes:

5. I never understand why people feel the need
to interfere (or even make an unsolicited suggestion) on such a personal decision.

8. It's classier than simply asking if you want to fuck.
You know?

9. Thank you.
I just turned 40. My eggs are creeping up on being past their sell-by date. This causes me no angst whatsoever.

It really seems to disturb some people. Almost always women. Women in my orbit who think they're closer friends than they really are, specifically. (REAL friends know how I feel and respect it.)

10. I hate that.
Having a family would be fine, but I'm not going to feel deprived if it doesn't happen. I don't know why some people don't understand that not every women feels like her sole purpose in life is to breed.

11. I'd much rather get stuck with another kid
than get stuck with a permanant partner of any sort. :scared: I have NO desire for a permanamt relationship, nor do I have the time for one. I'm debating going the popsicle route to have Dropkid.2, though, which I'm sure will set the neighborhood aflame with gossip.

I'm pretty much considered a total freak because I don't really date and am perfectly happy being a single parent. I'm not out there desperately trying to find a man or daddy for Dropkid :puke:. It would freak them out even more that I don't need another mommy for her either

13. You'll change your mind
about kicking the next person who says that, I mean. FFS, I'm 44 and I never changed my mind about not having kids. Hell, I still have the urge to get sterilized again (in case tubal ligation, uterine ablation, ovarian cysts and middle-agedness isn't enough!).

14. Wait, you're single?
Forget talking about kids, we can talk music, movies, and where to go for dinner and some brews together next Friday...

 :toast:

(not so) *furtive wink*
;-)

(I live a little far from you for this to be entirely serious, but...)
